Sheriff's Office Seeks Robbery Suspect

The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who allegedly held up a mini-mart in Milton-Freewater on Thursday.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man entered the First Stop Mart on Highway 11 with a firearm around 11:45 a.m., took an undisclosed amount of money, and fled on a bicycle. Investigators checked the area and were able to find the bicycle and clothing items scattered along Tum-a-Lum Lane, which is just around the corner from the store. The suspect was said to be wearing gloves, a flannel shirt, and brown pants.

The investigation is continuing and all leads will be followed up on, said Sheriff Terry Rowan. Anyone having information that could lead to the arrest of the responsible person should contact the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 541-966-3651.
