The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who allegedly held up a mini-mart in Milton-Freewater on Thursday.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man entered the First Stop Mart on Highway 11 with a firearm around 11:45 a.m., took an undisclosed amount of money, and fled on a bicycle. Deputies and officers from Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Milton-Freewater Police Department and Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office and Police, responded to the location.

Investigators checked the area and were able to find the bicycle and clothing items scattered along Tum-a-Lum Lane, which is just around the corner from the store. A Walla Walla County SO K-9 unit was deployed but nothing further was found. The items collected will be sent to the Oregon State Police crime lab for examination.

The suspect was said to be wearing gloves, a flannel shirt, and brown pants.

The investigation is continuing and all leads will be followed up on, said Sheriff Terry Rowan. Anyone having information that could lead to the arrest of the responsible person should contact the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center at 541-966-3651.
