HERMISTON, Ore.-Spring Break is coming up over the next few weeks for many districts around the region. Here’s a look at some local camps and activities offering fun, educational opportunities to keep kids engaged over the break.
Umatilla
Umatilla Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Camp: Camp runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. March 24-27 at the McNary Fountain Pond. Suitable for children ages 7-14, attendees will learn water safety, knot tying, as well as participate in casting contests and games.
Fishing gear will be provided or campers can bring their own. Cost for the Youth Fishing Camp is $30 for residents and $35 for non-residents. Registration can be completed online.

Spring Break Camp: Runs from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. from March 24-28 at the Umatilla Community Center. Suitable for children from kindergarten through fifth grade, campers should pack lunch and comfortable shoes for a mix of outdoor adventures and creative activities.
Registration is available online or by contacting Umatilla Parks and Recreation. Cost is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents.
Pendleton
Pendleton Parks and Recreation Spring Break Camp 2025: Runs March 24-27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Suitable for students in first through sixth grade, the camp is a mix of fun and educational activities, including bowling, art, science projects, games and visits to the library and parks.

La Grande
Veterans Memorial Pool Spring Break extended hours: Recreational swim time will be open from 1:30 to 5 p.m. March 24-29.

Baker
Art Camp at the Crossroads Carnegie Art Center: Runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 25-27 and offers activities that promote creativity and expression, including painting, mixed media and crafts.
Suitable for ages 10 and up the art camp costs $126 for members of the art center and $156 for non-members. More information about the art center and registering for the camp is available online.

Spring Break at the Library: The Baker County Library District is holding a week’s worth of events March 24-28, including scavenger hunts, storytime and a Lego extravaganza. More information is available through the library district.
