On Tuesday, Aug. 1 from 6 to 8 p.m., Stanfield residents are invited to Bard Park to attend the free annual National Night Out event, sponsored by the Stanfield Police Department.
The community-building event is a great opportunity for neighbors and law enforcement to come together in the interests of promoting police-community partnerships and neighbor-to-neighbor relationship.
The first order of business is to nominate one of your neighbors for the Neighbor of the Year Award. Applications are available at city hall, the police department, and on the city’s webpage.
The evening in the park kicks off with some games, including a bicycle rodeo for youth with prizes for participants (bring your own bicycle and helmet). And there’s something new this year: a drone obstacle race.
There will be a free barbeque meal, door prizes and free raffle drawings for great prizes donated by community businesses. The evening ends with a free movie and popcorn.
Bard Park is located on Highway 395 between Harding Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue. For more information or to volunteer, call 541-449-3245.
