SALEM, Ore.-The term for the at-large member position from the Eastern part of the state on the Oregon State Weed Board (OSWB) is expiring.

While the current member holding the position is eligible for reappointment, the Department of Agriculture (ODA), which oversees the board, is encouraging anyone interested in natural resource protection and noxious weed control to apply.

The OSWB is made up of seven members, with bylaws dictating that at least two members must live east of the Cascades. Members of the OSWB serve four-year terms.

The OSWB guides statewide noxious weed control priorities, awards noxious weed control targeted lottery funds and develops and maintains the state noxious weed list.

Those interested in applying for the OSWB may download and complete the interest form, including a statement of interest and experience through the ODA, and email it to Tristen Berg at: tristen.berg@oda.oregon.gov.

Interest forms must be submitted by May 30, 2025.
