A teenager was killed early Tuesday morning and two others injured in a single-vehicle crash on Wildhorse Road.

The crash occurred around 2:39 a.m., near the border of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. According to the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO), a red 1997 Ford Thunderbird had left the roadway, went over an embankment, and struck a tree.

There were three occupants in the vehicle including the driver, and 18-year-old male, Logan Foster, of Weston, a 15-year-old female and a 16-year-old male. The 16-year-old male was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The 15-year-old female was transported by ambulance to a LifeFlight landing zone. The driver, Foster, was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital.

The Umatilla Tribal Police Department and Umatilla Tribal Fire Department initially responded and located the crash. The crash was initially believed to be Umatilla Tribal PD jurisdiction, but was later determined to be Umatilla County Sheriff’s jurisdiction and the investigation was turned over to the UCSO.

Sterrin Holcomb of the UCSO said the investigation is ongoing.
