Detectives from the Oregon State Police (OSP) are continuing their investigation and search for an inmate from Two Rivers Correctional Institution who walked away from an inmate work site near Boardman on Wedneseday.
The whereabouts of inmate Steven Lee Fox are unknown at this time and detectives are working with the Oregon Department of Corrections in attempts to locate him.
Members of OSP and the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office patrolled the area Fox was last observed throughout the night but were unsuccessful in locating him and plan to continue patrolling the area throughout the day.
OSP and local law enforcement are asking people traveling in Western Umatilla and Eastern Morrow Counties to be observant and report any suspicious persons and are reminded to be cautious of picking up any hitchhikers in the area.
Fox is a 49-year-old Caucasian male, 225 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing blue jeans with the word “inmate” and the DOC logo stenciled on the knee in orange; and a blue T-shirt similarly stenciled in orange.
Fox entered prison on Dec. 7, 2010, on one count of burglary in the first degree, one count of unlawful use of a vehicle, and one count of robbery in the second degree out of Multnomah County. He also has one count of burglary in the first degree out of Umatilla County. His earliest release date is Aug. 12, 2016.
