HERMISTON, Ore.-A brush fire over the weekend on Warehouse Beach is now under investigation, and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) is asking anyone with any information on the blaze to come forward.
Umatilla County Fire District #1 (UCFD1) responded to the fast-moving brush fire shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28.
The fire was reportedly in a remote location full of heavy brush, which made it difficult for fire crews to get to and fight.

According to UCFD1, a “saw team” of firefighters trained in using chainsaws to clear brush and make fire breaks, was able to stop the fire from spreading beyond four acres.
Umatilla Rural Fire Protection District and the Echo Fire Department also responded to the fire and provided mutual aid.
Anyone with any information on the fire, or who may have been involved, is asked to contact the UCSO at 541.966.3651 and reference case #25-0783.
