UEC announces two internal promotions in Engineering Department

HERMISTON, Ore.-Chad Campfield and Ryan Young have been promoted to leadership positions within Umatilla Electric Cooperative’s (UEC) Engineering Department.

The internal promotions of Campfield to Manager of Engineering, Transmission and Young to Manager of Engineering, Distribution, took effect on July 15.

“At UEC, we believe in building future leaders from within our organization,” said Cole Bode, Vice President of Engineering at UEC. “Chad and Ryan exemplify the kind of skill, dedication and leadership we value, and we are confident in the direction they will continue to steer our engineering team.”

Campfield has worked for UEC’s Engineering Department since 2019 and most recently held the position of Superintendent of Engineering.

As Manager of Engineering, Campfield will oversee capital project planning and execution, ensuring strategic alignment with cooperative goals and regulatory compliance while leading engineers, project managers and land use staff, according to UEC.

Young has also been with UEC since 2019, also working as a Superintendent of Engineering, where he improved outage response and helped transition the entire system to advanced metering infrastructure.

According to UEC, Young will lead efforts around annual budgeting, capital project development, and support of regulatory compliance, while overseeing teams responsible for distribution engineering, metering, design and network in his new role as Manager of Engineering, Distribution.
