HERMISTON, Ore.-Umatilla Electric Cooperative announced the promotion of Cole Bode as its new Vice President, Engineering on May 1.

“Cole has grown with UEC during a time of significant change, and that depth of experience makes him well-prepared for this next step,” said Robert Echenrode, President/CEO.

Bode has been with UEC since 2018, according to a UEC press release on the promotion, and oversaw expansion of the cooperative’s engineering team, as well as the addition of twelve new substations since 2020, in his previous role of Manager of Engineering.

Bode earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Power Systems from the University of Idaho, is a graduate of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Management Internship Program Along and is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Oregon.

According to UEC, Bode’s leadership and technical expertise, as well as his dedication to mentoring and collaboration, has fostered a culture of talent development throughout the organization that will continue in his new role.

“I’m confident in his ability to support our mission and help navigate the dynamic future for the members of our cooperative,” said Echenrode.
