Fifth grader Shae Boothroyd of Hermiston is the winner of the inaugural Fun at the Fair Day Camp logo contest.
The contest was put on by the Umatilla County Fair in order to come up with a logo for the fair’s annual day camp. Shae, who attends West Park Elementary School, will receive two adult day passes, four children’s day passes, one Fun at the Fair Day Camp T-shirt and one carnival wrist band for the 2014 Umatilla County Fair.
Fair Manager Peggy Anderson said the West Park fifth grader’s logo “best exemplified the 2014 Umatilla County Fair theme, ‘Fun for the Whole Heard.’ ”
Each child attending the day camp will wear a shirt with Shae’s logo.
Prizes were also awarded to second-place winner, Angel Santana, also a fifth grader at West Park, and third-place winner, Emily Smith, a fourth grader at Rocky Heights Elementary School in Hermiston.
All the winning logos can be viewed on the fair’s Facebook page.
