A graduate of Weston-McEwen High School and member of the high school’s FFA (Future Farmers of America) program will receive her American FFA Degree this fall.

Juniper Cosner, who graduated in 2016, is the fourth member of Weston-McEwen FFA to receive this degree and honor. The last recipient was in 1999. FFA Advisor Ashley Florence said, “We at Weston-McEwen High School are so proud of Juniper’s accomplishments and we cannot wait to see her on the National FFA stage this fall.”

The National FFA Organization will award Cosner her degree in October at the National FFA Convention and Expo in Indiana. To earn the American FFA Degree, the honoree must meet many qualifications over a significant period of time. According to the FFA website, the American FFA Degree is awarded to members “who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to FFA and made significant accomplishments in their supervised agricultural experiences.” The degree is awarded each year to less than 1 percent of FFA members, making it one of the organization’s highest honors.

Past recipients from Weston-McEwen FFA are Joshua Legg in 1999, Kristen Kyles in 1998 and Ginger M. Price in 1993.
