MISSION, Ore.-The Wildhorse Foundation has announced grant awards totaling $447,230 for the second quarter of 2026.
In total, 29 organizations throughout Northeast Oregon and Southeast Washington received grants ranging from $3,000 to $30,000.
Grants were awarded for projects concerning public health, public safety, arts, education, environmental protection, cultural activities, and salmon restoration, according to the foundation.
Eastern Oregon organizations awarded Wildhorse Foundation grants
- Blue Mountain Conservancy, La Grande: $2,000 for Wild Schools Support project
- Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon, Pendleton: $5,000 to expand equitable access
- City of Irrigon: $30,000 for New Dream Park
- City of Stanfield: $25,700 for Tom McCann Veteran’s Memorial Park
- City of Umatilla: $30,000 for McNary Pickleball Courts
- Cove School District #15, Cove: $9,000 for Pathways to Practice; from high school students to local health science careers
- Gib Olinger Elementary School, Milton-Freewater: $6,900 for Life Skills Through Play-Deepening Playworks’ Impact
- Imbler School District, Imbler: $10,000 for Imbler Marching Band equipment
- Lexington Fire and Rescue, Lexington: $29,141 for Improving Wildland Firefighter Safety through Compliant Equipment
- Made to Thrive, Hermiston: $10,000 for support for low-income youth to participate in extracurricular activities in Umatilla and Morrow Counties
- Nixyáawii Community Financial Services, Pendleton: $30,000 for Txòtáyma Community Market Hall
- North Pendleton Rangeland Fire Protection Association, Helix: $29,897 for essential firefighting equipment
- Pioneer Relief Nursery, Pendleton: $15,000 for a facility improvement project
- The Wallowa Band Nez Perce Trail Interpretive Center, Inc. DBA Nez Perce Wallowa Homeland, Wallowa: $30,000 for Homeland Gathering Grounds: Accessibility & Infrastructure Project
- Umatilla-Morrow Head Start, Inc, Hermiston: $25,692 for facility improvements
- Wallowa County Educational Service District, Enterprise: $30,000 for Wallowa Collaborative Preschool playground
Three organizations were also awarded Rapid Response Grants (RRGs), of $1,500 to meet small and immediate needs for throughout the year.
According to the Wildhorse Foundation, Grace Clinic in Kennewick, Wash., Sustainable Living Center in Walla Walla, Wash., and Nixyáawii Community School in Mission, Oregon, received RRGs.

The Wildhorse Foundation is a community fund managed by the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in partnership with Wildhorse Resort & Casino that makes grants available to eligible nonprofit, government, and Tribal organizations within the homeland area of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people.
Wildhorse Foundation grants are awarded quarterly, with deadlines of January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1.
