A Kennewick woman was arrested Monday on reckless driving and other charges after driving nearly 100 miles per hour on Highway 11.

Sharlene Raynae Foltz, 48, was spotted by a Umatilla County Sheriff’s deputy driving a 2012 Kia Optima at speeds approaching 100 mph about 7 miles north of Pendleton Monday morning around 10:30 a.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, Foltz was also making dangerous passes in no-passing zone.

Foltz told the sheriff’s deputy she didn’t know how fast she was driving nor that she was driving dangerously because she allegedly said she was in a heated argument with a male passenger that appeared to be “very scared,” according to the sheriff’s office.

According to the sheriff’s office, there no evidence that either Foltz or her passenger were under the influence of intoxicants.

Foltz was lodged in the Umatilla County Jail.
