4th of July celebrations planned across Eastern Oregon

HERMISTON, Ore.-Made your plans for the 4th of July yet? From pancakes and parades to fun runs and fireworks, there are plenty of ways to celebrate around Eastern Oregon this year.

Umatilla

Umatilla Landing Days on June 28 starts with a parade down Sixth Street at 10 a.m., followed by a full day of vendors, activities, food and music at the Umatilla Marina before the first fireworks show of the season.

Boardman

Riverside FFA Country Breakfast at 7 a.m. in the Boardman Marina Pavilion before a parade starting at 11 a.m. at Oregon Trail Boulevard and S. Main.

Family-friendly activities get underway in Boardman Marina Park at 12 p.m., with live music starting at 3 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Hermiston

The annual Stars and Stripes 4th of July Celebration starts at 3 p.m. in Butte Park and includes vendors, games and activities leading up to the fireworks show from the Butte at 10 p.m.

A Pool Party at the Hermiston Family Aquatic Center will run from 6-9:30 p.m. and include swimming, concessions and dinner. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids and available at the aquatic center and through parks and recreation.

Ione

Festivities in Ione City Park begin with a Firemen’s Breakfast, followed by a 5k walk/run, car show, parade, family-friendly activities and a fireworks show to end the night.

Milton-Freewater

A Firefighter’s Breakfast runs from 7-10:30 a.m. in Yantis Park, followed by the 4th of July 5k Freedom Walk/Run. A community fireworks display will start at 10 p.m. at the Walla Walla Community College campus.

Pendleton

The Run for Life Freedom 5k starts at 7 a.m. in Roy Raley Park before the day-long 4th of July Community Celebration gets underway with a parade at 10 a.m.

The daylong celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. includes a chalk art competition, face painting, a dunk tank, book giveaways and the opportunity to adopt pets from Pendleton Animal Welfare Shelter and the Pioneer Humane Society.

Food trucks will also be available in Roy Raley Park throughout the day, that concludes with a community fireworks display.

Stanfield

Stanfield’s Annual Steak Feed will be in Bard Park from 6-8 p.m. on July 3rd.

A Firemen’s Breakfast gets the 4th of July started in Stanfield from 7-9 a.m. in Bard Park, followed by a parade downtown at 10 a.m.

Bard Park will host events throughout the day, including hot dog eating and pie baking contests, as well as duck racing, kid games and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., before a fireworks show at dusk.
