BOARDMAN, Ore.-A new community outreach program aims to make it easier for Boardman residents to connect with City officials.
Boardman Connects-Community Conversations is a chance for community members to ask questions, share ideas or concerns and provide feedback on the direction of Boardman directly with City officials in an informal setting.
According to the City of Boardman, the focus of the community conversations is on listening, learning, and building stronger connections. There is no formal agenda or presentations during the conversations, and residents do not have to go to City Hall for a traditional meeting format.
“We want to meet people where they are,” the City of Boardman said in a statement announcing the community conversations. “This program is about creating more opportunities for two-way communication, outside of formal meetings, in a setting that feels comfortable and accessible.”
Local groups or organizations, neighborhoods, individuals and community partners are encouraged to schedule a conversation at a time and location that works best and City officials will accommodate.
Individuals or groups interested in hosting a Boardman Connects-Community Conversation can request a date and time through the City.
