Former Umatilla Mayor and City Councilor Darron Dufloth will return to the council after defeating his opponent in Tuesday’s election. Also winning new terms on the Umatilla City Council are incumbents Roak Teneyck and Ashley Wheeler.
Dufloth turned back challenger Devon Mitchell for position No. 2, 686 votes to 591. He succeeds Michael Roxbury, who did not run for re-election.
In the race for position No. 4, Wheeler defeated her challenger, Isis Ilias, 940 votes to 292. Teneyck retained his seat on position No. 6 by beating Ilias’ husband, Ivan Gutierrez, 687 votes to 496.
