SALEM, Ore.-Skip the long lines at stores this Black Friday and hit the lake instead for some free outdoor recreation.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is offering free fishing, crabbing and clamming across the state November 28-29.

Free fishing days are a chance to hit the water, take someone new fishing, or experience Oregon’s natural resources, according to ODFW. No fishing or shellfish licenses or tags are required during free fishing days.

Trout will be stocked in several popular lakes across Oregon for the two-day fishing event, and ODFW’s Weekly Recreation Report highlights the best spots to try your luck, including water levels, fish hot spots and alerts.

Oregon residents and non-residents can fish for free over the holiday weekend. The full Oregon Sport Fishing Regulations is available online.
