HERMISTON, Ore.-Applications for Greater Hermiston Community Foundation (GHCF) grants to support community projects open April 20.
The Foundation supports programs that promote the well-being, development, and cultural growth of the Greater Hermiston area. Nonprofits in Hermiston, Umatilla, Stanfield, Irrigon and Echo are encouraged to apply for the grants.
“We have been delighted to see so many local groups apply for funding and make their projects come to life,” said Pam Stocker, Greater Hermiston Community Foundation board member. “Our goal is to be good stewards of local donations to invest in the future of our communities.”
Projects eligible for funding must demonstrate a clear and measurable benefit to the community, with a focus on creating long-term value and sustainability, according to the Foundation.
Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to be used for community development projects, construction and beautification of shared spaces, health and wellness initiatives, and arts and cultural preservation efforts.
According to GHCF, 18 grants totaling more than $130,000 have been awarded in the past two years.
Former GHCF grant recipients include organizations such as the Stanfield Community Center, the Hermiston Pickleball Project, the Hermiston Senior Center, and Eastern Oregon Mission.
